Falken Tires Takes Home Two Second Places in Midwest Race Events

ProLite

Two of Falken Tires’ regular competitors, Cole Mamer and Dawson Allington, each earned a second place finish in vastly different race conditions this past weekend, but running on the same Falken WILDPEAK tires, proving again, the versatility and dependability of the tire brand.

Mamer was competing in the Lucas Oil Midwest Pro Lite class at the Crandon Brush Run in Crandon, WI, in extremely wet conditions with a constant downpour. Qualifying was cancelled due to rain and Mamer started third in a “Land Rush”-style start.

“I’ve never been on this track in a Pro Lite before, and we didn’t even get a chance for a practice run,” said Mamer. “So with no qualifying either, still managing a second place finish is fantastic. The truck was extremely fast and the Falken WILDPEAKs did their job.”

Further south in Davis, OK, Dawson Allington and co-driver Mark Allington, a father/son team, where Dawson is the driver, qualified first in the 4600 Class of the Ultra4 Everyman Challenge “Clash at Cross Bar Ranch,” and finished second after running hard and suffering a rollover during the race.

“The track conditions were muddy, and we experienced a fair number of river crossings and circulating in and around large tree stumps and lots of rocks,” declared Dawson. “Without our Falken WILDPEAKs, we would have had a very difficult struggle. After the rollover, we got the vehicle right side up and pounded our way to a second place finish.”

“It was definitely a wet weekend in Wisconsin,” noted Brandon Barberena, Falken’s Supervisor, Light Truck and Off-Road Events, “and though the weather was a bit more cooperative in Oklahoma, the track proved equally tough there. Our teams persevered, carrying that ‘can-do Falken spirit’ with them – along with their WILDPEAK tires – and pulled off some great results. We’re extremely proud of their efforts.”

The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Midwest is yet another extension of the national short course races that originated in Arizona and Southern California. Like the counterparts on the West Coast, these races have seen significant increases in both fan base and participating drivers in recent years. Many regulars of Lucas Oil’s other series participate in order to gain necessary experience and prepare themselves further for the national points-paying Lucas Oil events. The next race in the Midwest series is July 13-15 at ERX in Elk River, MN, while the next national event is June 23-24 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO, for the 2nd Annual Geico Off Road Shootout.

ABOUT Falken Tire®

Falken followed a conservative marketing approach, introducing product slowly, winning races in its homeland which demonstrated the company’s technological capabilities early on, and then, when ready, expanding into new markets, launching tires that fit the personality of targeted drivers – those who relished the association with a winning brand.
