Justin Allgaier drove as hard as he could he could during yesterday’s NASCAR’s Chicagoland round to finish the regular season with a win, thereby ensuring a solid spot in the Playoffs. He took the inside after a lap 186 restart and managed to hang on for the next 13 laps to take the green flag over a charging Kyle Larson. He crossed the line for the final time just 1.7 seconds ahead of Larson, who managed to come back from a pit-road penalty to end up P2. Elliot Sadler came home P3, while Daniel Hemric, and Austin Dillon rounded out the Top-5. Brendan Gaughan came back from a cut tire that put him three laps down, but nevertheless kept digging to finish 13th, to secure the final spot in NASCAR XFINITY 2017 Series Playoffs.
